We interrupt this regularly scheduled travelog program to bring you a word from our sponsor. What would today be without a gorgeous Christmas Card sample? This is one of the cards that didn't get picked for the Founder's Circle Swap. We did make it for the Religious Christmas Card Sample Class but it couldn't make the cut for the FC swap as I couldn't order the Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding in time. :) But it was truly one of my favorites from the Religious Stamp a Stack.
Ribbon & Trim
That's all for today folks. I am home and actually have my Coffee Cards and Biscotti Class today…Laundry can wait, right? So enjoy the rest of the travelog and hope to see you in class soon!

I think I may just survive this last round of cold and flu or whatever has me still slightly under the weather..Ella told me that it's because we have fluid in our throats..that's why we are coughing. OK, then…apparently that's what Mrs. T told here and of course, the teacher is all-knowing.
I've wrapped up MY portion of the taxes this past week and had a little time to finish up samples for my Coffee, Cards and Biscotti class this past week. I found this card on Pinterest and so I used it as the springboard for my Oh, Hello Card for class this past week. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that Oh, Hello Stamp set and peeps, you will kick yourself if you don't add this set to your collection. I know, you have a lot of flower sets, I do too! But I'm telling you…this one is a rose among thorns….LOVE IT!! Don't you wish you would have been at class this week? Don't miss the Folders Class on April 8th & 9th!
Here's my card.
- Stamps: Oh, Hello
- Inks: Calypso Coral, Lucky Limade Markers

Ok not exactly THE BABY but one of the babies turned sweet sixteen this past weekend and so we've had another whirlwind weekend of memory making. We partied on Sunday with friend and family and spent Monday at the DMV. Eeks, driving makes me bite my nails!
My mom has made the fancy birthday cakes from the start but of late, Adria has made it known that she prefers cheesecakes and my mom, trooper that she is, has made cheesecakes for Ms. Adria. Her Raspberry Ripple cake is the best. I tried my hand at a Creamsicle one this year and it was pretty good.
Here's Bday girl and her two besties. Sarah has been her BFF since Kindergarten and Caleb, her special friend since this summer. :) I couldn't ask for nicer people to influence my daughter. luv them.
So I apologize for not inspiring you this past week and weekend. My excuse…worked night shift, cleaned and cooked and even squeaked in some time to do some stamping, planning, cutting etc. but just not on my blog. I'm back. Does that count? :)
Here's one of the cards that we will be doing at this week's Hostess Club.
Remember ANYONE can attend Hostess Club. Simply let me know you are coming and swing by with a $25 order and you can hang out with some of my very favorite people! Hours the studio is open for clubbers, friends and drop-ins is Thursday, March 7th 5pm-9pm and Friday, March 8th, 1pm – 9pm. Come on over!
And speaking of THE BABY. Here she is photobombing Adria and a couple more of our friends, sporting Adria's Bday gift. A Manchester United Jersey…
I saw the CUTEST card today on a friends blog and I was inspired to use the beehive punch art to stamp something for my upcoming classes. I don't know what my problem is of late…I usually have all of my upcoming class samples posted on my wall weeks ahead of time. See, here's proof. Nada!
Usually I have 4-5 cards on EACH of these squares…three samples out of 23. Not good odds. I had better take the rest of the day off and stamp, right?
I have my Spring Catalog Embellishment class coming up on March 11th and 12th and I can't decide if I want to use this card for that class or later in the March at the Coffee Cards and Biscotti. I try to throw in a Punch Art class fairly often and I haven't for a while…Hmm, which should I do?
My friend, Ann Clemmer used the bee from Collage Curios with her card and it worked well with the more elegant card that she had done…mine was more cutesy so I thought the elegant bee was a little too much..So I went ahead and found a cuter bee in the Spring Sampler set (did I mention that I got this set FREE for attending Leadership! Free stamps, who can beat that!)
Now, this card is WAY more intricate and busier than my usual style but it's good to get out of our comfort zone on occasion, right?
Leave me a comment and tell me which class I should use it in, the Spring Embellishments class or the Coffee Cards and Biscotti class and I will make a note to check on my OWN hives on the very next nice day. I hope my bees have over-wintered well. I'm worried…should have checked on them last month already…eeeks.
Ode to Dad Scrapbook Page…Today is my Dad's 67th Birthday and I wanted to share one of the pages that we scrapped this past week at my Layouts Class. These photos were shot at his 65th birthday, I think. (I resolve to be more organized about the photo editing/documentation in the future.) Usually you can gather clues from the photos that will help with the chronological dating or better yet, have the date indicator turned on, on the camera. Mine is not, as that would presume that I've read the directions for it's use. So it's back to clue gathering from the photo itself. There are 7 candles and I can draw no conclusions from that, as I'm thinking we probably just felt that 65 candles take a LOT of matches or that's all the were in the cupboard?…
So, I'm going to go with the fact that Ella's pony tails are pretty short and would stand to reason as she had given herself a haircut around that time. :) So I'm going to go with 65 here.. See who needs a camera with the date set!?!
Just in case you are wondering, my Dad IS an AMAZING FATHER. My brother and I had awesome parents and I know that Cal would agree with me…Dad was never was too busy to take us for a spin around the lake on the intertube in his FISHING boat or drop work to pull us in a sled on the snowmobile etc. He very rarely got upset with us. He was the pushover in the strict parent, soft parent routine that my folks had going. I remember him saying…"well, you have to say no to so many things, so why not let them sleep over at a friends on a school night?" Never rich or poor, we were always comfortable with just enough, so I don't remember being showered with things so much but more so, time…
Don't get me wrong, we had plenty of things! He surprised us one time with a small motorcycle and he didn't balk when we thought we needed a tetherball, he just sunk the metal pole in the BLACKTOP driveway for us. When I thought I might like a horse, he just figured out a way to pay for fencing and get water to the barn. But his generosity with his time is what stands out..Even now, he'll help with whatever projects I've got…came and dug water to our barn with his backhoe, he redid my cabinets in the office, he's building Denver a bed…etc. The list goes on and on..
He's got a pretty funny sense of humor and can talk to anyone. Growing up, we never doubted that my mom and dad were a team and were in love. So yeah, I know I have an AMAZING Father…Mother too…but her birthday is NEXT month. So Dad…Happy Birthday and many, many more. I love you, both!
