Do you horde your DSP? Have convinced yourself you will never find another sheet that can meet the beauty of the piece you hold in your hand? Does your paper rack have a bowed belly? Yes, I’m talking to you…or myself in a mirror!
I will readily admit I have paper issues. I love it, and cherish it…I horde it. No more! I’m committed to sharing my paper stash with the world and not to put the proverbial candle under a bushel basket, or in this case the beautiful paper in a cupboard for only myself to see. 2020 is the year of many things…and it most desperately calls for beautiful DSP..aka Designer Series Paper. Use your paper! That was the challenge I issued to my Rewards Club Members. In May, I held a zoom meeting for those special RCM Peeps and I sent them two 6×12 pieces of paper and we cut and chopped and reshaped into gorgeous cards. I think they would have had enough PURTY paper to make 9-10 cards, (we made 6 together). I gave them options of Paper and asked that they have a generic stamp set for the sayings. They turned out adorable!
Here’s the Cutting Map that I did. I used two different pieces of 6×12 Designer Paper (I then cut them into 4″ x 6″ pieces as it was easier to mail and to keep the pieces straight)
Aren’t those fun? I double dog dare you to grab two pieces of coordinating Designer Paper of 6″x12″ and use the scrap map to work up a few simple and adorable cards.
Did you have a lovely Valentines Day Weekend? Did your sweetheart buy you flowers? Did you make you make him/her a cake? Did you brave the crowds to have a romantic candlelit dinner? Our Valentines was a tad different than that but equally delightful. I bought my Sweetheart some new dress socks. I’m practical that way. He’s not much of a gift giver but he went out of his comfort zone and found a cute farmhouse vase for the place. (I’m hoping to take down the winter decorations today and use it in the little area on top of my cupboards) and then he switched out all the exterior door handles for me…front door wouldn’t open so its good now. Changed them all from the old gold to the oil rubbed bronze. And with that off my list, it’s further proof that he loves me!
And for dinner plans..my dear friend Marla and her husband, invited an entire house full of old married couples and had a lovely dinner for us. It was so fun and relaxing! Between the company and the food it was better than any 5 Star establishment. So fun! Of course, I think I forgot to take any pictures…so my poor Valentines page is going to be empty for another year. But really would this page HAVE to be on Valentines day? I think it would be cute for any day with your sweetheart. Actually I think I have just the right photos! I’m sure you do too…and if not, take one today! Love is in the air! I’ve got 2 extra kits that I will be adding to my Facebook page shortly. Let me know if you want one of them!
and don’t think those adorable heart doilies are only for cards! I added these hearts to my Christmas wreathes and left them up for the Valentines Holiday. I’m practical that way. 🙂
Now, don’t forget Scrapbook Layouts are this week. Thursday 2/20. Studio will be open 5pm – 8pm – Drop in anytime during the hours listed and make 4 equally awesome pages! $25.00 for 4 pages!
Sounds like a little more snow is headed our direction and while we had two lovely days that “felt” like winter doesn’t have a death grip on us, it was temporary. It’s back…with snow and sub zero temps! I was teasing my friend Barb about escaping Wisconsin for the entire month of Feb, but I think the girl has the right idea! Since I’m not going anywhere soon, I’m going to force Spring…with this sweet little springy card. I’ve used the Thoughtful Blooms stamp set that can be yours FREE with a $50 order. It’s a small price to pay for a little reprieve, wouldn’t you say?Watch today’s Facebook Live for the directions and the How-To.
One of my favorite things about a new catalog is the occasional “sleeper” product or stamp set. You know, the ones that totally escape notice on the first, second and third glances through the catalog. The things that one of my downline with bring to team training or a shoe box swap and I’ll go something like, “is that in the catalog?, Is it even Stampin’ Up?” Ok, I may not be the most observant of folkds and I’m blaming it on my age, my other 3rd shift job or thyroid issues, and totally not on my IQ?
While you’ll have to wait until my downline bring things to my attention for the full list, one of the items that I’ve found all.on.my.own is the My Meadow stamp set. It’s kind of tucked down on the bottom of the page on Pg 23. No adorable sample sitting right next to it to inspire you…so you may have done what I did…just flipped right past. But wait, go back…it’s a really cute set. I’m telling you…
Here’s a card that we did today on my Facebook Live. I told you yesterday that I would try to use the Snow Front set from the video and the My Meadow together. Check it out! and can i just say it’s WAY cuter IRL.
Out with the Old…In with the new! Sale-abration and the new Jan-June Mini Catalogs have arrived and I am so very excited to work with them over the next few months..but did you know that you can still get a few stamps from the “old” catalog (ok, just the recently retired Holiday catalog but still). It’s true…SU has given us a list of stamps from that catalog that are “carrying over” meaning that they are still available. Now you have to know that there are a few stamps/accessories that are in hibernation until NEXT September, items like the Moose Punch, the delicious Frost paper etc. Those items are shown with an **.. Check the list out here! (You may need to get out your bifocals or find someone with younger eyes. Eeeks!)Part of the reason I’m telling you this is that this Snow Front stamp set on the list would be a wonder companion set for the My Meadow from the Jan-June Mini Catalog.
The possibilities are endless. Here’s one of the card we did for my Take Three class in October. I think I’ll try to do a “My Meadow” version tomorrow! What do you think?!
So there we have it…2020…spent a little time figuring out my class calendar recently (You can download a copy here) and tomorrow we will kick off our 2020 Saleabration. We got some great free products. This sweet little card is created using one of the free sets you can get with a qualifying order. The set is called Happy Birthday to You. This is one of the fabulous cards that we will be stamping at our Camp on January 25th.
