Ok…take #2 – somehow I deleted Take #1!
Sometime around 3pm, the wheels feel off the proverbial bus…it was a great morning. I whipped up some class samples, whipped out some class preparation, and whipped through some past class extra cardstock packets…and then I made the mistake of checking to see if Ella was progressing (she wasn't) on her chore list. Hoodalolly, it was BAD… :) One of them was to wash the dishes as our dishwasher is on the blink. Note to self: do not leave 8 year olds unattended at the kitchen sink. I suppose I should have been clued in when my friend asked Ella, who had wandered out to the office, if she'd forgotten something. Apparently she forgot to shut off the water. Disaster was narrowly averted by the saving grace of Ms. Ellen. So it shouldn't have been a huge surprise to see the kitchen. I will say the dishes were washed, although I may need to wash the entire kitchen down now. Sigh…three more weeks.
I had also hoped to get into check on my bees. They have been sadly neglected this month and so I thought I should quick check on them and pull off honey supers or add, if necessary…and after the kitchen fiasco and about 45 minutes trying to start my smoker; as I've yet to master that part of beekeeping which should may be the simplest? (I've decided I should just buy an acetylene torch for the job. I say, Go Big or Go Home) there was a wonderful supercell thunderstorm that rolls through ending any ideas of beekeeping. Of course, it clears out about the time I need to run and pick up Ella from practice. So I'm left wondering…
wondering what to do, wondering what's for supper, wondering if I should just take my hubby out for dinner (it's our Anniversary, after all) wondering if we could just eat at the State Fair, wondering how I wasted a perfectly good afternoon and where it all fell apart today. :) So I figured if I quickly shared a card, I could knock that task off my list and maybe the afternoon wouldn't be a complete wash…
Here's a gorgeous sympathy card that I got from my friend/downline Phyllis N. It's absolutely gorgeous and is done using the You've Got This set. It uses one of my new favorite in-colors, Mint Macaron. It's so PURTY!
This is MY version using another one of my favorite sets, the July Paper Pumpkin Stamp set…it's the same layout, completely different look. We are going to be doing this card at my September Product Class on Sept 14th & 15th. Hope you can join us!
