It's Saturday and I've received my jolt of caffeine and hope to spend a little time in the studio before the kids wake up.  April is kind of a wacky month with Easter, Spring Break, the Scrapbook Expo and soccer coming into full swing and the way the cards fell, while I was working up my schedule, was that I needed to have SEVERAL classes crammed into one week.  One of my girls was here three times this past week.  I wonder if she's sick of me!?  With all that cardstock flying and glitter flinging, my studio looks like a tornado tore through it!

Last night, while we were working on my Spring Collage Class, I figured out that I had had 8 sessions of 5 different classes/events this week.  :)  So my blogging was a little scant this week, as was my cooking efforts and laundry skills.  It just means that this next week is my catch up week (which is kind of an oxymoron around here!) but I need to start working out things for the Scrapbook Expo!  Should be a great event and I can't wait for you to see all our cute displays!

So what should I share first?  How about a card from my April Shower's class.  We used the Aquapainter and ink pads to watercolor the fish in this masculine Birthday card.

  • By the TideStamps:  By the Tide, Chalk Talk
  • Inks:  Island Indigo, Crumb Cake, Baked Brown Sugar, Crushed Curry (for watercoloring), Versamark
  • CS:  Soho Subway, Island Indigo, Crumb Cake, Baked Brown Sugar, Gold Foil, Vanilla
  • Misc:  Oval Framelits, Chalk Talk, & Itty Bitty Banner Framelits, Gold Embossing Powder

Note:  Both the Chalktalk and Itty Banner Framelit Pieces where cut in half and elongated by glueing down further apart underneath the oval so more of the cardstock was showing.

I love sketches.  It takes a lot of the "thinking" out of card design.   I was inspired by a sketch from my downline Melynn.   Melynn

Head over to my webstore to purchase any of the supplies to make this card, perfect for any male in your life.  Check out the class schedule too as you don't want to miss any stamping opportunities!
