I have fond memories of that song by Lou Reed, "Walk on the Wild Side". My high school chemistry teacher, used that song, a seance and disappearing ink to introduce us to Avogadro's Number, Avogardro's number for those of you without an awesome High School Chemistry teacher, is 6.02214199 X 10 to the 23rd, which is supposed to be the number of molecules in a mole of a substance. I'm really glad for teachers that are creative and make learning fun and memorable. It's going to take me a few minutes to remember his name, but I haven't forgotten his lesson. I suppose that's the true measure of a successful teacher!
So now that you are singing that song right along with me, here's a great card that we did at class earlier this week using that "Walk in the Wild" stamp set. Ok, so I took liberty with the name and changed it from "in" to "on" but I'm telling you, I'm singing the song…over and over and over.
- Stamps: Walk in the Wild
- Inks; Island Indigo, Soft Suede, Sahara Sand, Garden Green, Black Staz-on
- CS: Sahara Sand, Soho Subway Designer Paper, Vanilla, Soft Suede
- Misc: 3" Circle Bigz Die, Circle Collection Framelit, Vintage Trinkets, Wood Grain Folder, Natural 5/8" Chevron Ribbon. Aquapainter
Note: To do a color-wash, I lightly wet the paper behind the moose with the Aquapainter, and then added the color to the brush and allowed it to bleed into the wet area. That will give it a more muted dilute look.
Also: I thought the Chevron ribbon itself was too "girly" so I simply flipped the ribbon over to the back side and used it as such.
