Being a down home Midwestern girl, I'm familiar with corn on the cob, Culver's custard and brats…Shucked Oysters?…not so much. But I'm game to try JUST about anything, so when I was presented with the chance to try shucked oysters at our Stampin' Up! manager's reception, I went with it. Now here's the question I'm asking you…are you supposed to chew the slipper little suckers or swallow them whole? I could make a good case against, for either of the options.. Whole? I think I'd choke. Chew them? They have little cruchy things in them. What's the correct procedure? Now before you East Coasters laugh at my lack of oyster knowledge, do you know if you are eating a brat in the correct manner? And yes, I thought they were totally edible and not gross at all, I just need to know the "right" way to eat them, to be cool and all, you know.
We did have a wonderful Manager's reception tonight. We enjoyed the Houston Aquarium all to ourselves. The food buffet, see above, was OVER THE top, filled with appetizers like Beef Wellington, to, get this, a Mashed Potato Bar where they had made to order mashed potatoes. Smoked Salmon on a fork, a little ironic at an aquarium, but I digress. The Aquarium has an Shark tank where you can take a train through and the fish swim overhead. Ella was a bit nervous that about that. I told her hardly anyone gets hurt. They had Sting Ray Petting Zoo too.
You know how the fish always look bigger in the aquarium? The glass magnifies their bodies? I'm pretty sure that applies to the people standing in front the aquarium too. I can't explain the "bloated" look, as this was BEFORE the buffet.
Stampin' Up! really does know how to throw an awesome party and I love working for a company that loves me! I have the best job ever! And because it's a Stamping Blog, I suppose I should share a card? This is one of the cards that I did for a swap as well.
You’re too funny, Sarah! 🙂 It sounds like you’re having a wonderful time exploring! I have to say, you are much braver than I am with those oysters…blech!
Mellisa.
We ARE having an absolute blast. I’ve learned quite a few new stamping tricks that I’m anxious to use in class, swapped some cards, ate some chocolate and even have gotten a little sleep! There’s always room for more in this House Party
