Happy World Card Making Day!  I'm going to challenge you to make a card and then do something completely foreign to most of my friends that come to class.  Quite hording the paperhugs!  Make your stamped card and then stick a POSTAGE stamp on it and send it out!  Make that card and then make someones day!

I treated today like any other day and left my alarm set for 5:30am (bus comes REALLY early for my highschoolers).  Since I didn't have to be at any am soccer games this morning and we had a crashed teenage guest on my couch, I couldn't possibly do my normal morning routine in the house right?  And it was FAR to foggy to go for a walk.  So, I treated myself to a two and a half hour early morning stamp session that was completely free from guilt!

I must work better under a little more of a time constraint because this card took the entire 2.5 hours to get just right.  I will be using it on Monday & Tuesday's Glitz and Glimmer Class.  I will probably try to do a quick video of this technique later this week.  No, I don't have time, anymore, today.  I've got some paperwork, chickens and children to feed and I think I want to try a batch of pesto before the afternoon soccer games and tonight's festivity.  We are heading to a friend's fish boil.  Mmm…sound like a perfect day.  Let's hope the rain holds off.

Here's mine and then when you make yours, do this!

World Card Making Day Contest

October 5 is World Card Making Day. It’s a day to celebrate creativity and to make something meaningful. It’s also a day to kick off the holiday season and get a head start on making seasonal cards.

To celebrate this wonderful day, each concept artist has created a card to share with you. Making cards is a great way to express your creativity and foster relationships. We hope that this inspires you to make a card for someone on October 5.

In addition, Stampin’ Up is having a contest . . . to inspire you even further!

There are two ways to enter.

  • E-mail a photo of a card (or of you making a card) on World Card Making Day to wcmd2013@stampinup.com.
  • Post a photo of a card (or of you making a card) on Instagram on World Card Making Day. Mention us by typing @stampinup and use the hashtag: #wcmd2013 in the description.

This contest is open to everyone—demonstrators, customers, friends, spouses, children . . . you get the idea! However, there are a few conditions:

  • You must be over the age of 18 to win a prize.
  • You must use Stampin’ Up! products to create your project.
  • You may enter as many times as you wish, but each entry must feature a different card.
  • The contest will last all day on October 5, from midnight to midnight.
  • We will randomly select 100 winners from our English-speaking North American markets to receive a Paper Pumpkin kit.

A selection of pictures will be posted to our World Card Making Day Pinterest board and the winners will be announced in a current update.
