I'm a very happy girl today. Kids are still in bed and I've had absolute peace and an hour to myself in my stamp room. It was silent except for the rustle of cardstock, the tap, tap, tap of a stamp to an ink pad and an occasional rooster crowing. (I need to do something about that! Anyone need a couple of very nice and gentle roosters?) New stamps, new accessories, new colors and now I've made myself another cup of coffee and it's bliss. Mmmm, so very abnormal.
It's Fugue Friday. I know, it's been so very long since I've done
a post with a Variation on a Layout. I'd completely forgotten about it. I was actually doing some more organization and was throwing out a display board. I had ripped off the cardsamples and found this card from a couple of years ago. I loved the layout then, easy but different than a simple fold. I had cut the cardstock at 4 1/4" x 11 and scored it at 5 1/2" and then again at 4 1/2". I then folded it in half and the inch between the folds is glued so that the flap folds up at 4 1/2". Does that make sense. Kind of like a tablet fold?
So I've pulled out the new pads, colors and stamps and have had a chance to whip up some Fugues. Here's the first. I really can't say which one is
the favorite. I've used the New In-Colors (remember they will be available for 2 years!) Pear Pizzazz and Peach Parfait. I've also used our new Elegant Lines Embossing folder with the Occasional Quotes Hostess Set. Did you know that you can order the In Colors as a package deal? Yeah, I forgot and then missed out on the free cardstock that comes with the package. Duh.
So Variation #2 is done with another Hostess Set. This is the Birthday Bakery Level 1 Hostess set. I'm no dummy. I want you to fall head over heels in love with this set and then need to have a party. It's really really cute and you know, parties are just that…PARTIES! They are tons of fun for hostesses and guests, alike. Ok, I get it….you feel guilty when you have "fun". We'll call your "party" a workshop. "Work" shop….would that make you feel better? Psst: This is a sneak peek at a card for July's Crystal Effects class. Check out dates and times here.
So Lastly here's Variation #3. I've used the Woodland Garden Designer Series Paper and will tell you more about that tomorrow! I've got to get those dumb chickens fed before the dumb roosters wake up the neighbors! I hope you enjoyed your Fugues. Let's see what you can do! Email me a JPEG and I'll include it on the blog!
