I have often told my customers that stamping is good therapy and this week I've been able to prove that hypothesis over and over. It really is GOOD therapy. Nice to be alone with my thoughts and just reflect and grieve. I'm so glad that I've got the stamping outlet. The week and a half has seemed like a decade but yet it seems like just yesterday and here we are at Fugue Friday again. Time does heal hurts and I hope we can cherish our memories of my dear sister-in-law, Cynthia. Hug your family and hold them tight.
Cynthia's Mom has stayed over at Calvin's (my brother) this week and my mom felt I needed some Ella Assistance so that I could get caught up on things we let slide the previous week. So Mom has been here helping me and it's been so wonderful to work in the office a bit, which translates to stamping. :) I haven't been the most productive these last few days but I did manage to stamp a few Fugues.
This was a card that I used at Christmas time and I believe I had CASE'd several elements from someone's blog, Inking Idaho, perhaps?? If you ever find it, let me know so that I can give the original CASE credit.
This was the Hostess set from the last mini catalog called Snow Buddies. I LOVE this set. The snow men are so cute. Mom helped Ella make a real one this week and we have cucumber eyes and in it's "Charley Brown-ness", it's adorable..pathetic but adorable at the same time.
So Fugue #2: I was basically using up extra cardstock that I had set aside for Fugue #1. I switched the stamp sets to be Extreme Snowboarder and Starring You, both of which you can get for Free this month and next with a $50.00 order!
- Stamps: Extreme Snowboarder, Starring You
- Inks: Brocade Blue, Basic Gray, Real Red
- CS: Real Red, Brocade Blue, White
- Misc: 1 3/8" Circle Punch, Small Star, Silver Brads, Corrugator, Shimmer Paint
I love this card. It's easy and fills a need for a tween birthday. Change the colors again into a bit more Radical ones and you will be the best.
So Fugue #3: Let's change everything but the basic design!
I swapped the stamp set for Abundant Life and changed the corrugated cardstock banner for ribbon. Springy and simple.
- Stamps: Abundant Hope, Charming
- Inks: Black Stazon, Sahara Sand, Mellow Moss, YoYo Yellow, So Saffron
- CS: Pretty in Pink, So Saffron
- Misc: Modern Label Punch, Pink Satin Ribbon
TIDBITS
& Triffles – just a few notes
- I misted Fugue #2 with a Spritzer bottle mixed with
Champagne Mist Shimmer paint and Rubbing Alcohol. I added ¼ tsp to the little spritz bottle
and then added Rubbing Alcohol. 90
% works the best. I haven’t used
the bottle since Christmas, shook it good and spritzed…perfect. Shimmer Paints are still available as a
write-in, in all three colors.
Champagne Mist, Frost White and Platinum. Only $5.95 a bottle and they LAST
forever! - Abundant Hope is a fabulous springy and Easter type set. It's available in the Current Occasions Mini Catalog
