Hot diggity, it’s Friday and I’m not even late for the challenge! And I’ve posted two days in a row, it must be a new kind of record for me! Our challenge was to use the layout on page 12 of the Holiday Mini.
- Stamps: Autumn Harvest, Define Your Life
- Inks: More Mustard Craft, More Mustard, Basic Black, Garden Green and Pumpkin Pie Classic
- CS: More Mustard, Naturals
- Misc: Chocolate Taffeta, Gold Brads, On Board Trimmings Chipboard
This was a photo that I cut up of Adria and her best friend, Sarah. We did a leaf shoot a couple of years ago and of course, pictures still aren’t scrapped. I’m thinking I should have a scrapbooking retreat for myslef and my customers one of these days! Anyhoo, I needed to do the mirror image of the sample as not to cover Sarah’s face. Looking back, I didn’t realize the On Board Garland Greetings have chipboard leaves and that would have been perfect. I was a bit distracted this morning by Hurricane Ella when I was working on this challenge
The circle center of the ornament did work ok. I simply sponged the mustard craft pad directly on the chipboard and allowed it to dry. I tried stamping and coloring the chipboard itself but I wanted more coloration variation so cut out a watercolored pumpkin instead. I’m itching to try the snowflakes in the same On Board pack and use a black and white snowscene. I think it’d make a great 6×6 xmas card!
Toodles, we are experiencing the eye of the Hurricane as it’s nap time and all is peaceful, calm and quiet. I must get some work done before the "eye" of the storm moves off and we are regaled with the full force of Hurricane Ella again!
WOW! Never thought to use a photo for the card sketch! Great way to think out of the box!!! Love your special card…

Ha! Storm damage to the figure, the mental state and house in general. Did you know that if you eat Basic Black CS, your mouth will be dyed black for a significant amount of time? Did you know that if you take a child out in public with a black mouth, people look at you funny? Gotta go, caller id says Children’s Social Services!
Oh I love that you chose to use a photo. This is so precious.
How cool to use pictures for your panels! I love it!
Sarah, this is a gorgeous card! I would be great for Christmas cards!! I love that you used a picture instead of the patterned paper. So out of the box!
At least Ella looks happy!
What a neat idea using a photo for the 3 panels. Love it & the pumpkin image and that cool satin ribbon really make this extra special. Ida

Now this is really creative! Love the photo and your version of the challenge is awesome. I just bought the Mosaic Moments kit from Wish in the Wind and am anxious to cut up a few photos too. Nice job Sarah! And that must be your little boopa that was in your belly at convention last year! Sweet.
Very creative take on the challenge…I think it is great – a great photo and great design creation. I just a bought Mosaic Moments kit from Wish in the Wind and can’t wait to chop a few photos myself.
Also, that must be your little boopa that was in your belly last year at convention… now THAT is adorable.
