Well, we didn’t title this blog, "Diversionary Tactics" for nothing. I, of course, have nothing better to do this morning than create an entirely new sample for posting here today. A bushel of beets need canning, peas need replanting, $300 worth of plants are sitting in pots, killing the grass underneath them and three kids need attention (well ok, baby was just put back down and the other two and their sleepover guests need rousing shortly but I’ll enjoy the peace and quiet for now!) So yes, don’t use any of the existing samples in the stash of literally thousands of cards to post here on a blog challenge featuring punches! Hey, I’ve got a legitimate diversion!
Nope, don’t use this sample from last year. ( I may plan on updating this one for my Halloween/Thanksgiving class in October, unless I hear from many of you that we’ve done that one in a class already!) It uses the Oval punches and a couple of circle punches.
Nope, don’t use this sample from my techniques class last week, using the Tag Punches. Or even the box using the flower punch from a recent Girl’s Nite Out Class. "Oh no, you MUST create something entirely new as you never finished your week 8 challenge," says the little voice in my head!
Ok, here’s my Week 9 Challenge and my inspiration for it. Michelle Neuendorf, one of my very talented downline in Madison sent this adorable tri-fold card some time ago.
Here’s my version using a few more punches.
I think I might do this card at the Stamp A Stash at the Vernon Park and Rec on Sept 10th. (sign up here) recreation@townofvernon.org. It’s not listed on the Vernon Website, but it is scheduled!
- Stamps: Punch Pals
- Inks: Basic Black, Markers, Going Gray, Always Artichoke, Bashful Blue
- CS: Wintergreen BP, Always, Artichoke, White
- Punches: Scallop, 1/8", 3/4" & 1 1/4" Circle, Slit Punch,
- Misc: Blender Pen, Celery Ribbon, White Gel Pen
Ok, so the inside fold’s circle needs a little work but I can only divert so much. And a white gel pen, where was that used, you ask? Ha, You can’t see the smudges now, can you! Works just like "white-out". My inner voice was telling me to remake it but I told it to "shut up!" Again, I can only divert so far and besides, this was already the second attempt.
Hugs for today and happy stamping and DON"T FORGET to visit the other bloggers in the Challenge Group for even MORE punch drunk samples! Diversionary Tactic #3 aka Ella is making adorable morning noises and I better go get her before the noise become less than adorable!
I especially love the BOO one. SUPER DUPER CUTE!
